A Chinley student beat-off more than one hundred thousand other hopefuls as she became the first person to enter the Big Brother house for this season's show.
And now she's battling to stay in the mega-hit Channel Four programme.
From all the applicants, Channel Four picked only 12 to go into the house to be filmed continuously for 64 days.
But already Anouska Golebiewski, who went to St Thomas More School, Buxton, is one of four contenders nominated for eviction.
Each week housemates pick who they want kicking-out and last Friday six people chose Anouska.
She had more nominations to go than anyone else and on Friday her fate will be decided in a public vote.
She said: "Big Brother is a must-do opportunity that very few people will be part of but one which I will thrive on.
"It is a totally unique experience set in a totally unreal environment."
Anouska is registered on the Friends Reunited website where she writes that she is on her second year out after school.
On the website it says she went to Chinley Primary, St Thomas More for three years before doing her GCSEs and A Levels at Poynton High School.
After spending most of 2001 in South Africa Anouska is now a nursery assistant changing nappies and feeding babies.
Anouska, 20, added: "It would be so excellent to hear from my friends from Chinley and Buxton because it has been far too long."
It is the third series of the popularity contest, hosted by Davina McCall.
The programme has launched the showbiz career of former air steward Brian Dowling, who won the second series and is now a presenter on Saturday morning television.
On air she described life in Chinley, a small rural village a long way from the tabloid newspaper speculation about the contestants' lives which they have had to put up with since joining the programme.
But Anouska also has a long way to go to win the contest outright.
Tracy Chelton, manager of Ladbrokes' Buxton office, said odds on her winning the title were currently 20 to 1.
If she did win, Anouska would walk away with a cash prize of £70,000.
And Anouska is quoted at nine to four to be evicted on Friday, second most likely to go behind fellow contest Ray at three to one.
"We've had a bit of betting, but not actually on her, because I don't really think a lot of people know she's actually from around here," said Tracy.
Also up for eviction are Frederico, Jon and Scott.
The contestants' every move can be followed 24 hours a day on the Channel Four website.
