THE Courier recognises how key international business is to the prosperity of Calderdale and Yorkshire.
The dark satanic mills which once churned out reams of textiles grew on the back of overseas trade.
Although the face of international trade has changed, the body is still supported by strong international links.
Sponsored by Chadwick Lawrence solicitors and The Royal
Bank of Scotland, the award for the best international company reflects our understanding of that important market.
We are looking for a company which can demonstrate an understanding of its international market, has evidence of significant growth and development on the international scene, has a strong commitment to its overseas future, has been innovative in gaining a strong overseas representation, can demonstrate the positive promotion of Calderdale PLC overseas and is willing to help generate links for other businesses in Calderdale on the international scene.
Steven Bonfield, senior commercial partner with Chadwick Lawrence, said it was critical that companies continued to be aware of overseas opportunities and strive for representation overseas.

Companies are invited to make nominations online here.

Please also phone 01422 260227 to check receipt. Nominations close on Friday July 6.
