We have decided it is time to shout about some of the great companies which are bringing jobs and success to the district.
We have teamed up with commercial legal specialists Chadwick Lawrence to recognise the best performers.

To decide the firms which deserve awards, we want your help. You can nominate a business for any of the remaining categories on our online form - just click here.

We have a great night planned at Berties in Elland on November 15 to celebrate all that is great about business in Calderdale and already some firms are on their way there.

Three companies have booked their place at the grand dinner in the Contribution to the Community category.

Action Halifax is sponsoring this section and chief executive, John Shepherd, was delighted with the standard of nominations and the short list of three: The Halifax, Provident Insurance and Marshalls of Southowram.

They will join the three finalists in the category for Small or Medium Eneterprise. The sponsors for this section Yorkshire Bank were represented at the judging by senior business partner Ian Firth and from the nominations they chose Wilby Ltd, Oddyssey Glass and Crossways Scaffolding.

Nominations are about to close on the The Royal Bank of Scotland sponsored International Business category and the finalists, who will all be heading to the big night at Berties, will be announced on Monday.

There are five more categories to come over the summer, so there is still a chance to nominate a Calderdale firm for an award.

The section still to be decided are:
Business of the Year
Business Person of the Year
Young Business Person
New Business
and Contribution to the Environment.
