Blacked-out sheets show their contempt

High Lees Road Halifax THE reform of MPs' expenses that Gordon Brown promised in order to encourage the voting public to give them another chance hasn't worked.

The blackout ink on the expense sheets is surely a good example of collusion between MPs and the expense claims office.

While MPs who have well and truly been caught out make a last-ditch attempt to pay measly amounts back by cheque in order to keep their well-paid jobs safe, the honest MPs rarely get a mention or indeed a ministerial job.

The 40-hour week, nose-to- the-grindstone, working-class man – if he is lucky – earns an average take-home pay of around 300 a week or 15,000 a year. If an MP cannot manage on a 65,000 salary without milking the system they don't deserve to be in the job.

The 100 food allowance a week is a disgrace; these MPs are not living in our world. Most people have to pay their utility bills and feed themselves as well on 100 a week.

To think we are paying these people to get us all a better standard of living and all they are doing is getting themselves sorted out.

The blacked-out sheets of paper show utter contempt round the country and if this is not cleaned up before the next election, voters will make their voices heard.

I am sure our own MPs locally wish to know what we the public think about their claims. We think xxxx xxxx x xxxx xxx xxx xx and you can all xxxx xx x xxxx xx

xxxxx xx surely it's time for you all to xxx xxxx xx xxxx what a greedy set of xxxxx you are.
