Confessions of a Cliff Richard fan

Adgil Crescent, Southowram

I've got a confession to make.

Right, here we go; last Sunday I took my wife to Manchester to see Cliff Richard and The Shadows.

There, now I've said it, my children will disown me and I will be a laughing stock in our village. But, to tell you the truth, they were brilliant.

Cliff bounced around the stage like, in his words, any other pensioner and he noted that they were the only ones who had not retired.

On the strength of that show they have no need to retire. It was a very good, old-fashioned rock and roll show.

The Shadows played all their hits, and with 50 years' practice their playing was superb.

Now that I have got that off my chest I will take my warm milk to bed and plan. Maybe the Osmonds?

I think not.
