In sorrow and in joy, maternity ward staff are the best

Talbot House Elland

I WAS wrong. The midwives and nurses on the maternity ward at Calderdale Royal Hospital don't just share your pain, they share your joy as well.

One year ago on January 8, Logan Scott was born asleep to his devastated mother, Kimberley.

His birth was a tragedy shared by loving midwives and nurses who did everything they could to help his young mother.

One year later on January 7, Demi Lea was born. The staff again were wonderful, particularly Kimberley's midwife who was the same one who attended at Logan's birth. They were all so caring and as thorough as they were when her brother was born.

No baby is run of the mill to them. They were clearly elated at Demi Lea's birth and from other mothers we heard the same story.

With grateful thanks to the midwives and nurses of the Calderdale Royal, from all the family in sorrow and joy you are the best.
