Library on move?
Park Avenue, Elland
I READ your article on the council's plan for Broad Street ("Council in Broad Street move", Courier, July 11) but I cannot get my head around the sum of 12 million that it was going to cost to refurbish the council offices in Northgate. Did this figure include the library?
I thought the Broad Street project was already decided so can the council change things? Has there been any consultation with the public?
If the new plan goes ahead will the library still have the same facilities as now?
It has been open for just over 25 years and for a town the size of Halifax it is very good and the staff are very helpful.
What will happen to the arch-ives in the vaults which were specially built for the purpose?
