Hullenedge Road Elland I am writing regarding the piece in the Courier (June 22) about the Calder Valley Search and Rescue team and would like to say what a wonderful group of people they are.
We at Overgate Hospice held our Mountain Bike Challenge on Sunday June 21 and this wouldn't have been able to go ahead without them. Not only are they professional and really well organised, they are friendly too.
Earlier that day they were called out to an emergency but still attended the Mountain Bike Challenge and supported us all on a voluntary basis all day.
Organisations like theirs and charities like us would not be able to run without the many volunteers who give their time freely. A big thank you from all 221 cyclists and us here at the hospice to Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team.
