A human hand at work here?

Could the carnage wreaked on family pets across Calderdale really be the work of two dogs with bloodlust?
Or is it not more likely the hand of some depraved individual is at work?
The latest attack on a hutch containing guinea pigs in which one animal was decapitated, makes a total of around 20 similar horrific incidents all within a three-mile radius. Some attacks have been worse than others.
There have been instances where it is quite possible that two powerful dogs were responsible.
But one look at the way the hutch was ripped apart in the latest attack suggests something far more sinister.
Something akin to badger baiting and hare coursing, where humans deliberately set animals on one another.
Metal bars that were bolted down had been ripped out of position creating a small gap.
It is unlikely a big dog could achieve such damage, but to do it so a smaller animal could squeeze in is stretching the bounds of reality.
Somebody has to be involved and that is the view of vet Rebecca Muwanga too.
"It looks like somebody has helped," she concedes.
For now the police say they are only searching for two dogs, which seems odd.
The notion that a pair of rogue animals could co-ordinate their crimes in such a calculated way is laughable. If that were the case then we really are all in trouble.
