AS films go it will never be up there in big lights.
But the names of the two people who made it may well be one day.
David Pownall and Caroline Eccles, fishmonger and librarian by day, have won top prize in a national film making competition organised by Friends of the Earth.
It was judged by top in
dustry figures Andrew MacDonald, the producer of blockbuster movie Trainspotters and David Sproxton of Aardman Animation, the creators of hit animations Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run and Creature Comforts.
The competition asked "Which bit of the earth are you a friend of?"
The winning response from the pair, a one-minute-long slice of nature called Winberry Hill was shot at a little known beauty spot near Accrington, which is where Caroline hails from and where she remembers going as a little girl to pick bilberries.
Friends of the Earth described it as outstanding, while David Sproxton said it was "from the heart".
The prize for these two budding amateurs is to make a professional film with Friends of the Earth and, who knows, fulfil a lifetime's ambition of becoming full-time film producers.
Our best wishes go with the couple and their new project.
And when it is over and they are looking for their next location, we would be only too pleased to suggest lots of outstandingly beautiful places this side of the Pennines for consideration too.
