Its time to hibernate on an evening, stay in and keep warm, huddle up near the fire and take things slowly...
We are on an economic slow down, less cash to shop and go out so why not sit back, relax and enjoy a less frenzied autumn. Take time to look around and notice the seasonal colours, smell the cool air, kick the leaves around our feet and have good old
fashioned walks. It costs nothing, it only requires time.

Stop zipping about spending every minute trying to be effective; savour your experiences and do one thing at a time; give others your complete attention and energy. It will improve the quality of your relationships.

For at least one day per week you need to live for the moment instead of worrying about tomorrow's tea and next weeks schedule. By slowing down, we de-stress and allow our bodies to become centred and grounded. Rushing anything makes it a chore and unmemorable, it can also give you indigestion and lasting discomfort.

Think about taking a long, hot, deep bath. How does the warm soothing water feel? Imagine it being luxuriant and relaxing. You can't beat a slow soak with a few drops of essential oil, a good book and a glass of something nice at your fingertips. That's what I call real enjoyment and you can do it inexpensively in your own bathroom. And don't forget to have a big fluffy towel warming on the radiator ready for when you step out.

When we cram everything in at break neck speed we often feel tired, overwhelmed and unsure, whereas slowing down even for a day can give us thinking time and allow us to absorb the vast amount of information we need to take in. A slower pace can make us more confident and relaxed about any decisions that we make. The daily tasks of cooking, eating, reading, listening and spending time with our families become far more pleasurable when done slowly.

Slowing down also allows you to disconnect from the daily grind and move at your own speed.
