Eleven-year-old Jack Prince's speciality is his luscious penne pasta casserole.
And fellow pupil Bethan Binns, 9, is a dab hand at her terrific tropical fruit smoothie.

Luddenden Foot's luscious penne pasta casseroleIngredients
- A splash of oil
- 1 medium onion (chopped)
- 2-3 garlic cloves (chopped)
- 150g penne pasta
- Dry mixed herbs
- Grated cheddar cheese
- 500g minced beef
- Salt to taste
- 2 OXO cubes
- Tinned chopped tomatoes
Method1. Chop and fry onion and garlic in a little oil
2. Add mince and cook until brown
3. Stir in the tinned chopped tomatoes
4. Add dry mixed herbs and 2 OXO cubes
5. Stir the mixture together and simmer for approximately 10 minutes
6. Drain the partially-cooked pasta and add to the mince mixture
7. Put the mixture into a baking dish and top with grated cheese
8. Cook in the oven at gas mark 7 - 350f/180c
Terrific tropical fruit smoothieIngredients
- 1 mango, peeled and seeded
- 1 papaya, peeled and seeded
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries
- 2/3 cup orange juice
- 10-15 ice cubes
MethodPlace the mango, papaya, strawberries, orange juice and ice cubes in an electric blender. Process until the ingredients are smooth, or make a fruit salad.
