Ken's blind ace

WHEN Ken Davidson hit a sweet six iron from the tee at the 143 yard fifth at the Hodgkin course Woodhall Spa, he was mystified when there was no sign of his ball as he approached the green.
But as he couldn't see the bottom of the pin from the tee, he checked in the hole just in case, and sure enough there it was, and the 18 handicapper had completed the third hole in one of his career at the Lincolnshire course where he was taking part in a Spa Society event.
And it didn't end there for the Savile Park based player, who is not only a member at West End but also at Royal Lytham as since his retirement he splits his time between Calderdale and the Fylde.
"I got a two on the short 12th and went on to win the trophy so it was a memorable day," said Davidson, 72.
His other two holes in one came at West End where he often enjoys a round with 16-year-old grandson Oliver, who has already shown signs of following in the family tradition by bagging an ace of his own recently at the testing Scottish course of Lanark.
