David Tomlinson and his partner Bernard Green returned a magnificent nett score of 61 to win Halifax Bradley Hall's Buckley Trophy during their recent Open Week.
A full field of golfers from various clubs around England, and also including one competitor from Spain, competed for the trophy in excellent weather and on a course in superb condition.

Home club representatives, Andy Whitworth and Paul Taylor t
eamed up to good effect once again as they set the early pace alongside Bob Airey and Tony Wormald with their nett scores of 66.

However, they were soon overtaken by the seniors team pairing of John Taylor and Tony Hirst whose nett score of 64 held until the afternoon until Tomlinson and Green weighed in to claim the final honours.

However, some of the late starters put in excellent efforts with Ernie Howker and his partner, John Dolan boasting a combined age approaching 140 returning the best of the 64's.
