There are several Halifax/Huddersfield and District Union team regulars in the field including Andy Shaw (+1), Richard Broadley (+1), Jim Fairhurst (scr), Andy Appleyard (3) and Danny Stocchero (3).
Home hopes are also high with Simon Wilson (3), Steve Smith (5), Mark Birkett (2) Tim Pollard (5) and previous winners Clive Crawshaw (2) and Luke Mudd (5) among the challengers.
There are also a handful of double winners which include Spencer Nicholson (12) Chris Whitehead (5) and junior organiser Darren Davison (6) all of whom will will be hoping to celebrate a treble success.
The competition has an early start at 6am to accommodate a full entry list of 93 competitors.
The Ogden Cup is the culmination of a high profile week which started with an Open 4BBB last weekend where the course was one of few in the area to re-open after the downpours on Friday night.
The Ladies Ogden Cup competition was due to be staged today with a men's individual stableford scheduled for tomorrow.
