THERE was double joy for Meltham GC during the Goodalls Caravans-sponsored Halifax and Huddersfield Union's Handicap Foursomes last week as both their sides won a place in the quarter finals.
The Meltham 1 team edged out a gallant Crow Nest Park 2 pairing by one hole at West End while Meltham 2 also had to battle before beating Marsden 1 at the 19th at Woodsome Hall.

Both teams now travel to Lightcliffe for their last eight matches on July 21 with the other two ties taking place on the same day at Bradley Park.

Crosland Heath had similar success in the Scratch Foursomes at Woodsome Hall, with the Crosland Heath 1 duo seeing off Ryburn 1 at the 19th with the club's other team beating Hanging Heaton 1 3&2.

The final of both competitions takes place at Bradley Hall on Sunday, September 21.
