Still chance to play in Cockroft

THERE are still a few starting times available for the Halifax and Huddersfield Union's PS Cockroft Trophy, which as reported in last week's Courier, has now been rearranged for Sunday, August 10 at West End.
Anyone interested in making a late entry to the Huddersfield Audi sponsored competition, which also forms the qualification tournament for the Union Individual Matchplay Championship, should call Union competition secretary Steve Bricklebank on 01484 427042.
Rain forced the abandonment of the first attempt to play the competition at Halifax GC on Sunday, resulting in the revised date.
The first two rounds of the Matchplay Championship will now take place at Halifax GC on Sunday, August 24 with the quarter and semi finals on Saturday, August 30 and the final as scheduled on Sunday, August 31.
There are some minor alterations to the original start times, which will appear in full in next week's Courier golf column.
