LATE replacement Mike Tiffany proved a classic supersub for the Halifax, Huddersfield & District Rabbit Association as they stormed to a 5-1 victory in their annual clash with their Bradford area counterparts.
Just 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the clash at Woodhall Hills GC, one of the visiting Halifax and Huddersfield squad was forced to pull out due to a family emergency and Tiffany, a 27 handicapper who has only been playing the game serio
usly for two years or so, stepped into the breach.

And he did himself and his home club Crow Nest Park proud as he partnered Saddleworth man Tony Taylor to a 6 & 4 victory to help his side retain the trophy they won at the Hove Edge course last year.

But there is no rest for the Halifax and Huddersfield side who are back in action tomorrow when they entertain the Flamborough area team at Crosland Heath GC in what promises to be a close contest.

Results

John Turner (CNP) & Malcolm Turner (Outlane) won 3 & 2.

Richard Squire (Castlefields) & Rod Gaukroger (Castlefields) lost 2 & 1.

Mike Tiffany (CNP) & Tony Taylor (Saddleworth) won 6 & 4.

Malcolm Elam (Huddersfield) & Derek Francis (Marsden) won 3 & 2.

Keith Aldridge (Bradley Hall) & David Stubbings (Crosland Heath) won 3 & 2.

Richard Harrison (CNP) & John Cryer (CNP) won 3 & 2.
