A STRONG Halifax and Huddersfield Union side will take on St Annes Old Links in the traditional season closing fixture which takes place at Halifax GC on Sunday, October 5.
The home side hold a 7.5-4.5 lead from the away leg at the beginning of the season on the Fylde coast.

Home pairings are as follows, with the same pairs competing in both the morning foursomes, which start at 10am, and the afternoon fourballs, which start at 2pm.

A FINE second round 71 by Edward Battye helped him to a share of eighth place in this week's Ashton Trophy at St Annes Old Links.

The Dewsbury District GC player had already carded a first round 78 and his final two round total of 149 left him 10 shots behind winner Mike Bedford of Prestbury.
