HALIFAX RLFC are offering a cut-price deal on 2009 season tickets if fans buy them before the National League One Grand Final on September 28.
The club today placed tickets on sale at just £100 plus VAT for adults and £60 plus VAT for concessions, a significant saving on the standard price of £138.
The offer also includes a discount voucher worth £5 off the price of a 2009 replica shirt, a
nd an invitation to a special event to view the new East Stand when it is completed next March.
Fax have begun to rebuild their squad for 2009, surprising many pundits by retaining a clutch of key players, notably 2007 National League One Player of the Year nominee Sean Penkywicz and former Warrington hooker Mark Gleeson. Now they are asking fans to back them by snapping up season tickets at the offer price.
Fax chief executive Graham Clay said: "The signings we have made over the last few days show we are serious about maintaining the momentum we have generated this year.
"We were disappointed to miss out on a Super League licence, but our ambition remains the same.
"Everyone can play their part in determining the quality of squad we will have for 2009.
"By purchasing their season tickets now supporters will benefit from an incredible low price, and give the club confidence to plan for the future.
"Until the East Stand is complete our income streams are limited compared to other clubs, but a quick uptake on season tickets allows us to compete in a strong market."
One of the players to re-sign, captain Penkywicz, has personally written to existing season ticket holders urging them to take up the club's offer.
"I am proud to be the club captain, and had no hesitation in re-signing for next season," said Penkywicz.
"I firmly believe the club is on the brink of an exciting new era. The team spirit here is fantastic, and the players who have joined the club recently have commented on what a great club we have.
"For example, Mark Gleeson came to us after nine years in Super League, initially only until the end of the season, but has agreed to stay for 2009.
"Now is the time of year when clubs begin to rebuild their squads, and the news of our re-signings so far has given the whole club a boost.
"But we must keep the momentum going, and that's where we hope the supporters can help by purchasing their tickets."
