HALIFAX cannot afford to be far from their best when they resume their Northern Rail Cup campaign against Leigh at the Shay on Sunday.
That's the view of hard-working second rower Mark Roberts who believes Fax have what it takes to get through to the last four at the expense of the Centurions.
"Leigh are a quick side on the flanks and I expect them to be tough," said Roberts, who spent the 2008 campaign with the Lancashire side.
"It is a big competition and we cannot afford to take anyone lightly.
"But I think we have the best pack in the league with plenty of go forward and are good all over the field."
Fax will go into the weekend clash on the back of a 36-4 win at Doncaster.
And Roberts admits that was an important victory coming in the wake of their first defeat of the season to Championship opposition when they were beaten by Sheffield at the Shay.
"We had matched Castleford in the Challenge Cup and walked from the field with our heads held high," he said.
"But it obviously took a lot out of us and we lost at home to Sheffield.
"We made a lot of mistakes in that game and the game plan went wrong.
"We made the Doncaster game tough for ourselves but we have a win behind us now and we will be looking to pick up from where we left off.
"It will be a couple of weeks between the games but we have been training well and hopefully that will stand us in good stead."

England coach Tony Smith has selected his 19-man squad for next week's Gillette Fusion international against France in Paris from no fewer than 11 Super League clubs.
Of the 12 English outfits, only Hull fail to provide a representative, a far cry from Smith's World Cup squad which was dominated by players from Leeds and St Helens.
The big two provide just five representatives, compared to 15 in the 24-strong squad that went to Australia, and that, according to Smith, indicates the increasingly competitive nature of Super League.
Huddersfield and Hull KR, surprise members of the top four at the halfway mark, provide two players each and there are representatives from four of the clubs occupying the bottom-six places in the table.
"This I believe is a reflection of the form of some of the players and clubs at the moment and also underlines just how competitive Super League is this season," said Smith.
Leeds winger Ryan Hall, Wigan half-back Sam Tomkins and Huddersfield hooker Scott Moore, who is on a season-long loan from St Helens, are the three uncapped players hoping to make their debuts at Stade Jean Bouin on Saturday week.
As expected, Smith has made sweeping changes following England's dismal World Cup performances, with just six survivors from last November's 32-22 semi-final defeat by New Zealand in Brisbane.
They are captain Jamie Peacock, James Graham, Danny McGuire, Adrian Morley, James Roby and Ben Westwood,

Squad: Ryan Atkins (Wakefield), Sam Burgess (Bradford), Shaun Briscoe (Hull KR), Tony Clubb (Harlequins), Eorl Crabtree (Huddersfield), Peter Fox (Hull KR), James Graham (St Helens), Ryan Hall (Leeds), Gareth Hock (Wigan), Danny McGuire (Leeds), Scott Moore (Huddersfield), Adrian Morley (Warrington), Richard Myler (Salford), Sean O'Loughlin (Wigan), Jamie Peacock (Leeds, capt), James Roby (St Helens), Michael Shenton (Castleford), Sam Tomkins (Wigan), Ben Westwood (Warrington).
