Rugby League: Eagle happy to land at Fax

HALIFAX wing recruit Rob Worrincy has admitted he is "disappointed" by the reaction to his departure from Sheffield Eagles.
The 23 year old speedster put pen to paper at the Shay last week, bringing to an end his association with the South Yorkshire outfit, where he has spent three of the last four seasons.
Eagles boss Mark Aston was keen to re-sign the former London, Castleford and Hull FC back, and has been outspoken in his criticism of Worrincy's exit strategy, claiming his former protege had indicated he would stay at the Don Valley Stadium.
"I've worked hard with Rob to develop his game and this is how I've been treated," ranted Aston.
Worrincy's response has been dignified, with the player insisting he does not want to engage in a slanging match with his former mentor.
"It's disappointed me, Mark carrying on like that in the Press," said Worrincy.
"At the end of the day, I have too much respect for him as a coach and a person to get involved in it, to be honest.
"I have had some great times at Sheffield, but I was getting a bit too comfortable and when you get to that point you don't push yourself as hard in training or in matches.
"I wanted a new challenge and Halifax will give me that."
Worrincy, often tipped as a potential Super League player by Aston, is now hoping Fax boss Matt Calland - himself a former international threequarter - can help him "move to the next level".
"Every year I have been involved in rugby league I feel I have improved," said Worrincy, who only began playing in his late teens with the Greenwich Admirals club before moving on to the Broncos.
"There are still areas of my game that I know I need to improve, and I am hoping that working with Matt and the rest of the coaching staff will help me do that.
"I just want to train hard, try and win a place in the side and repay the faith Halifax have shown in me.
"If you are playing in the National League you want to be at a top club and Halifax are certainly that.
"I'm really excited about being in the same team as players like Sean Penkywicz, Bob Beswick, Dwayne Barker and Ben Black.
"As a winger, you know you have work to do helping out in the middle of the field, but you also look at the players inside, the ones who are going to create chances.
"And there is some awesome talent at Halifax."
