Halifax RUFC: I'm doing everything I can - Rhys

RHYS Morgan played down any suggestion that he was feeling the pressure after watching his side extend their losing run with the 35-17 defeat by Fylde at Ovenden Park.
Five defeats on the bounce are not good news for any coach, but Morgan has yet to receive the dreaded vote of confidence from the board and is philosophical about what lies ahead.
"I have not been put under pressure. Nobody has said anything to me directly but, I am a coach and we need to win and I know that whatever comes upon me I have to take it on the chin," he said.
"You hear bits of banter about how I should be doing this or should be doing that but I remain philosophical about the whole situation.
"To me the pressure is having to tell a lad that he's dropped. That is the pressure for me because I think they are all great lads."
Morgan worked hard to rebuild the team from the wreckage of the previous season and paid tribute to the work former Heath captain and coach Dave Harrison has put in alongside him.
Morgan also pointed to the lack of a second team at Halifax which puts them on the back foot as far as developing players is concerned
"I feel I cannot do any more than I am doing," added Morgan. "Myself and Dave Harrison are working exceptionally hard to bring success to this club.
"Harry has done an excellent job. He is very experienced and highly respected and he has guided me on occasions. In fact quite often Harry will put his point of view over mine and that's good because he has a lot of good things to say.
"If I'm not hitting the nail on the head then Harry is and that is how the partnership works.
"I believe we have a good team. We recruited hard during the summer and hopefully we will get some reward for those efforts.
"We have all bought into the fighting mentality that is Halifax. We wear the club badge with pride and I think that showed through against Fylde.
"I hope that was recognised by everybody who saw how hard we worked.
"I am doing everything I can with the team. I would love to go shopping but I don't have that luxury.
"I have no second team with players coming through and that makes things difficult.
"I am not bleating and making excuses, but that is how it is. We work with what we have."
