FC Halifax Town moved up to seventh in the Unibond One North table on the verge of the play-off places after sweeping aside fellow promotion-candidates Bamber Bridge 5-2 at Irongate.
Junior Brown bagged a double to take his goal tally to four in the last three games, Ashley Stott moved on to nine for the season and Colin Daniel struck for the second time on his loan spell as Town avenged the 3-0 opening day defeat at the Shay.
And manager Jim Vince was a happy man at the final whistle as the Shaymen made it 13 points from a possible 15 in the last five matches.
"We looked a threat every time we went forward," he said. "The work rate from Ashley stott and Colin Daniel was very good.
"People have questioned Ashley but the goal he scored was as good as anything you will see at this level.
"Junior Brown is a little dynamo and a great player to have.
"That is what we expect at this club. There were flashes of very good play last night.
"The teams that performs to a consistently high level will win the league this season.
"I am not saying we will win the league, bit if we consistently play to that level we will have a good shout.
"We have been playing in fits and starts, but over the last five league games we have won four and drawn one so we are getting there.
"I don't think anyone had a bad game. It was a good team performance, but we don't want to be just good, we want to be very good.
"To be very good we should have won 5-0.
"We took our foot of the pedal a little bit, but every team is going to have moments in a game."
Vince recalled Brown, Damien Allen and Cavell Coo after resting them in the League Cup at the weekend.
"I know I have had some flak over Saturday's selection, but it was vindicated last night," he said.
"Players were rested at the weekend and they showed desire and willingness and a great attitude.
"We have showed potentially what we are capable of."
The manager and his assistant Nigel Jemson, again playing in the sweeper role, had words just before the final whistle.
But it did not take the gloss off a sparkling victory.
"Nigel Jemson was magnificent again," said Vince. "He marshalled the defence and helped the younger players.
"He is contributing off the pitch with me and on it he is contributing towards the team's performances.
"That is all you can ask of people..
"Football is about passion and making decisions. We had a slight disagreement but that's football."
