JIM Vince is under no illusions as to the size of the task facing his FC Halifax Town side at Curzon Ashton tomorrow.
But while he admitted Curzon are a very useful outfit, he believes Town have that extra bit of quality which can win the day and said he was "quietly confident" the Shaymen could rise to the challenge.

"They are at good side and it will be difficult but what they haven't got is that extra bit of quality which we have," he said. "I hope we can show that and I'm quietly confident."

The Town supremo said he was well aware Curzon would be on a high after making it through to the first round of the FA Cup on Monday with a penalty shoot out triumph over Hinckley United which booked Gary Lowe's men a home clash against League Two Exeter.

But while he applauded their efforts, he has no intention of watching the Manchester side extend their run tomorrow.

"That is a fantastic achievement to get to the first round of the FA Cup and you don't do that by luck, you do it by being a good side," he said.

"It's a great set up there with a good playing surface, and they get good support so it should be a great atmosphere which every player should enjoy.

"They have good players such as Mike Norton who showed what he can do with two goals at our place recently, but we have to deny him and his team mates space and time, and if we do that, we can get a result."

Vince was pleased to report that skipper Tony Barras suffered no reaction to his shoulder problem after his midweek run out at Wakefield and subject to a precautionary scan today he will rejoin the squad travelling to Curzon.

And there is further good news with regards to Tom Baker who has recovered from the ankle problem which forced him out of the Wakefield game and is back in contention.

However Danny Ellis, who felt a problem at the back of his knee during the warm up on Tuesday and had to pull out of the game, is still being troubled by the injury and is unlikely to figure.

In addition, Danny Meadowcroft was carrying a slight knock when he played at Wakefield and is a doubt, as is Jonathan Smith who picked up an injury during that game.
