STRIKER Jon Shaw will return to the Town side for tomorrow's tough Blue Square Premier trip to Exeter City (3.0).
The Shaymen's leading scorer this season with 22 goals missed Monday's game at Droylsden with an ankle injury.
But he travelled to Rushden & Diamonds with the squad for last night's Setanta Shield northern semi-final and is ready to face the Grecians.
"Jon will be back and starts tomorrow," said boss Chris Wilder, whose side, without Shaw, were beaten 1-0 at Nene Park.
"You know what he is like and what his character is and he will lead from the front.
"I am sure we have enough quality to go to Exeter and get a result."
Wilder added that he knew he would probably be in the minority in thinking that his relegation-threatened side could get anything from the game at St James's Park.
But he knows that there will be plenty of twists and turns before the season ends on the last weekend in April.
"There will be games in which teams are expected to win and it won't work out that way," he said.
"As long as at 10 to five on the last day of the season we are still in this division, that is the main thing. I am sure we will be.
"Next week we hope to have Andy Campbell, Adam Quinn and Nathan Joynes available again
"If they come back into the group and the players show the positive attitude that they did last night, we may prove the doubters out there wrong."
While Town are bidding to end a run of three successive defeats since going into administration, Exeter also need a victory to maintain their push for the play-offs after their loss at Weymouth on Monday.
Stevenage's defeat at Salisbury last night means that the Grecians are five points off fifth spot with two games in hand.
"I want my players to attack the game," said. Wilder
"The tables are turned a bit because Exeter will be the ones under pressure."
Wilder was pleased with his players' efforts at Nene Park last night despite going out of the Setanta Shield to a 15th-minute Michael Rankine goal.
"I thought everyone showed their true character," he said.
"They gave their lot for the club tonight and made the opposition work very hard for their victory.
"We were disappointed with the goal we conceded and that we did not finish off any of the chances we created.
"But I asked them to go out, pass the ball and play with a smile on their faces and they did that.
"They showed what a decent side they are.
"We went out to get a result and even at the end we were throwing people forward".
In addition to the return of Shaw tomorrow, Santos Gaia will be back in the Town side at St James's Park.
He was forced to watch last night's game at Rushden because he had played for Grays in an earlier round of the competition.
City will be without Steve Tully tomorrow after he was sent off in Monday's defeat to the Terras.

Droylsden were nine minutes away from beating runaway leaders Aldershot at the Butcher's Arms ground last night.
Leading 2-1, the Bloods were eventually pegged back by a Lee Roche own goal.
Terry Fearns scored twice for Droylsden with Junior Mendes also on target for the Shots
Aldershot's Scott Davies was sent off as was Droylsden's Steve Daly.
Iyesden Christie scored twice as Kidderminster Harriers thrashed Salisbury City 4-0.
