FC Halifax Town only have themselves to blame for failing to beat Silsden at the first attempt in the FA Cup.
That was the view of Shay boss Jim Vince who was clearly disappointed that his side had failed to find the back of the net for the fourth time in five matches.
Town enjoyed the bulk of possession in a 0-0 draw but their continuing problems inside the opposition area came back to haunt them as Silsden earned a Wednesday replay at Cougar Park.
"It is out own fault," said Vince. "If you don't score goals you don't win games."
"The game play was good, our ball retention was good and we are getting the ball in the right areas, but for some reason it is not going in the net.
"We have scored two goals in five games and that is not a good ratio.
"It is something that has to be addressed and whether the players do that internally or we have to look elsewhere, I am not sure at the moment.
"Everything seems to be okay, it is just the penetration in the final third is letting us down."
Town thought they had won the game with three minutes remaining when Jonathan Smith fired in a shot.
But Silsden keeper Martin Foulger dropped on the ball to earn his side a second chance.
"Their keeper pulled off a point blank save," he said, "What do you do?
"Do you question the player and whether he should have placed it either side. He did what he was supposed to do - put it on target.
"It may be a little lack of composure, but I am pretty positive that when we get one we will kick on.
"You can make excuses, but I felt we played okay
"If we had won three or four nil I don't think anyone could have had a gripe with that.
"Hopefully we will get a bit of luck in the final third.
Vince added that he felt his side should have had a first half penalty, something he believed would have made a huge difference to the outcome.
"We had a spell of 15 minutes in the first half which ended with a handball and I was disappointed the officials didn't flag it," he said.
"It was a blatant handball. It was not a case of which hand was it, the kid was playing basketball with it," he said.
"They are the things we need at the moment.
The Shay boss now has to regroup with his team for a second tilt at the North West Counties outfit and can expect more of the same in midweek.
"They are a hard working team who try to get you on the counter attack," said Vince.
"I don't know how they have done it but they have left the Shay with another chance."
Silsden boss Paul Schofield is looking forward to a second chance but knows that Saturday's game will have no bearing on how the replay goes.
"I was very pleased," said Schofield. "The lads stuck to the game plan and we were very competitive.
"It is a whole new ball game on Wednesday. We have to sit down, regroup and go again as if we had not been to the Shay on Saturday.
"It is not half time, it is a brand new game and we have to start again."

TOWN skipper Tony Barras continued his comeback from minor knee surgery with a run around the Shay pitch a couple of hours before kick off on Saturday and was named among the substitutes.

FC Halifax Town's Unibond League Cup preliminary round clash with Wakefield, scheduled to take place at the Shay tomorrow, has been postponed due to Wednesday's FA Cup replay. No new date has been announced for the game.
