Published Date: 16 August 2008
HALIFAX Town Supporters Trust have urged the Shay regulars to take a friend to today's season opener against Bamber Bridge (3.0).
Trust Chair Gavin Butler said the organisation was looking forward to a new era for the game in the town.

And they urged everyone to back the re-formed club in their quest to climb the football pyramid.

"It's the start of a new and hopefully exciting era where the supporters can concentrate on enjoying the football," said Butler.

"While the demise of the old club earlier on in the year was hugely disappointing, it's important everyone looks ahead to ensure the new club can mature into something Calderdale can be proud of.

"We would ask all supporters to try and bring along with them someone who wouldn't usually attend games to help give the club the best chance of getting off to a great start."

it annoys me when people say " calderdale " because like it or not the rest of "calderdale " are not interested in Halifax Town we should concentrate on the people of Halifax, people in Todmorden are not going to switch from Burnley and people of Brighouse are not going to switch from Huddersfield then theres all the Leeds and man u fans, " calderdale " doesnt mean Halifax im sure the people of Batley dont consider themselves to be in Huddersfield because they live in kirklees? now the people of Hlifax should go watch the shaymen because its there local team.

bubba yes he is and yes hes right.
people from todmorden and brighouse would be ashamed to admit it even if they was.

and take a friend to the match? hahahaha we would have none left!

you will just have to be content with the fact we as taxpayers pay the huge subsidy reluctantly.

we like to check the clubs progress as well as Leeds United!

they lost on saturday to Oldham.
