FC Halifax Town boss Jim Vince has urged his side not to take their foot off the gas when they face Salford City at the Shay tomorrow (3.0).
Town are looking to complete a hat-trick of wins against rock bottom City who have picked up just one point from six games in the league so far this season.

But they thrashed North West Counties side Atherton LR 5-0 in the FA Cup last weekend and Mossley 2-0 in the Unibond League Cup in midweek.

"To make it three wins in a row would make it a good week's work," said Vince.

"The message will be: we have two in the bag let's make it three

"We will certainly be trying for that and, despite being nowhere near where we want to be, we can do it with effective play.

"Salford are not the side we might have faced last week - we are not the same side as last week either.

"But they must have something about them to have beaten Mossley, something we couldn't do.

"We cannot afford to be complacent. We have to be right for the game."

With five goals scored and non conceded in the last two matches, Town appear to be on an upward curve.

But Vince was not particularly happy with the second half display against Warrington on Tuesday and is demanding more from his players.

"We should be scoring a lot more goals that we are," he said. "But that is the kind of football I want my teams to play.

"You could see in the first half the way we passed the ball, kept it and moved it up the pitch was a joy.

"Now we have to do it for 90 minutes and not just 45."

Skipper Tony Barras came through 90-minutes on Tuesday while Craig Smith could be ready to return and Junior Brown is around seven days away from a return.

And Vince hailed the part physio Alan Russell Cox has played so far this season with the squad being hampered by injury problems.

"Alan has been fantastic in getting the lads back from injury," said Vince.

"He has shown fantastic dedication and expertise.

"Tony Barras had an operation a month ago and played on Tuesday.

"The backroom guys are unsung heroes and I am very grateful to have them with us."

There were 778 at the Shay on Tuesday night when Town had to compete with Champions League on television and steady rain in the build up to kick off.

And Vince is hoping that a few more will be there tomorrow on the back of a first home win.

"The fans saw something of what we are trying to achieve here Tuesday," he said. "Hopefully they went home and told a few people."
