FC Halifax Town boss Jim Vince is set to hand home debuts to a trio of players when his side takes on Skelmersdale United at the Shay tomorrow (3.0).
Central defender Danny Meadowcroft and striker Colin Daniel featured at Harrogate Railway last weekend and were joined in the side on Tuesday against Garforth by Damian Allen.

With Paul Gedman and Tony Barras still sidelined through injury and regular midfield duo Justin Walker and Jonathan Smith having been dropped to the bench in midweek, Vince looks likely to name a largely unchanged side against the Merseysiders.

"Big players were not involved in the game on Tuesday because Saturday was not good enough," said Vince. "The quality players in the squad need to play well all the time and now they will have to wait for their next opportunity."

Nigel Jemson could be asked to reprise his role as sweeper, a position he slotted into in the 2-2 draw at Garforth.

But Vince admitted that three at the back was not a system he particularly liked.

"I had not played the system before," he said. "But my hand was forced.

"As a manager you want to be proactive with the basic shape of the team.

"I have had to be reactive given the climate of injuries."

Town will be looking to build on the final stages of Tuesday's game at the Genix Healthcare Stadium when they stormed back from two goals down to snatch a draw.

"There was a strong bond between the players and the end of the game was like a crescendo," said Vince.

"There was a great level of intensity, a willingness, a desire and a passion in the last 20 minutes.

"But we also played some good football in the previous 70 minutes and were camped in their half for the majority of the game."

Allen became the 32nd player to have worn a Town shirt in the opening 15 competitive games of the season when he faced Garforth.

And the manager admitted that he would have preferred to have had fewer players through the doors at the Shay.

"I don't like mass churn but I have to make decisions for the good of the club," said Vince.

"Every manager wants to improve his squad and we are currently nowhere near what I want.

"But we haven't got a bottomless pit of money so we have to make sure we get value for it when we spend it."

Especially if they know Jemson is playing at the back. Give my grandad a ring. He will fill in a right back if Coo gets injured. Hes nearly 80 but is fitter than Jemson
