HALIFAX Town Supporters' Trust has congratulated the club following its early pre-season form on and off the field.
A statement from its board applauded the progress made but added a cautionary note over admission prices.
"The new club began the month with no identity or manager but has since managed to retain the name of Halifax Town and appoint a highly respected and experienced non-league manager in Jim Vince," said spokesman Jonathon Monaghan.
"The progress made was epitomised on Tuesday evening against Bury when, whilst ending in defeat, the team showed the style of football expected by the manager. In a little over two weeks he has assembled the makings of a team which will be competitive in the Unibond Division One North and hopefully challenge for promotion.
"The attendance of just over 1,000 was also an extremely positive crowd given that very few made the short journey from Bury. In the recent past, pre-season matches against the likes of Bolton and Barnsley have drawn sub-1,000 crowds so Tuesday's attendance should be deemed a success for the new club.
"We must however air slight concern over the admission prices for the new league season. Whilst it is vitally important that Jim Vince has the financial backing to ensure the club has a good opportunity of immediate promotion out of the league, it is also imperative that new supporters are encouraged to visit the Shay. Whilst no easy task in finding the right level at which to set admission prices, we feel the chosen prices are rather high if looking to retain attendances similar to that of last season.
"We randomly selected six clubs from the Unibond Division One North and the average adult admission price was £6.33 which is considerably lower than the £10 it will be to watch the Shaymen. The average adult season ticket worked out at £105 which compares well against £160 to watch all of Halifax Town's home games.
"Whilst we welcome the announcement of a reduced price season ticket for students, the Trust respectfully asks the club's directors to reconsider the pricing structure for concessions and Under 12s as it is they who are the future supporters of the club.
"Finally, the Trust would like to congratulate the club on their appointment of Peter Stajic to the role of Sales and Marketing Executive. Peter has a solid commercial background, knowledge of the Shaymen and is well known amongst the supporters."
