TOWN face a final day nailbiter at the Shay tomorrow needing just a point from their clash with Stevenage Borough (5.15) to secure their Blue Square Premier future.
And boss Chris Wilder is delighted that their fate is firmly in their own hands going into the last game of the season.

"There is still a lot to be done - we know that - but it is in our hands and that is the big bonus," said Wilder, whose side will be safe no matter how tomorrow's game goes if Altrincham fail to win at Weymouth.

"We want to get a win on the last day of the season so we will play on the front foot.

"We have to make sure that we seal the deal."

The Shaymen put themselves in a position to climb to safety when they bagged their fourth away win of the season at Crawley on Tuesday.

And Wilder said he was not alone in believing that the 4-0 win had been on the cards.

"I think - and others in the game have agreed - that Tuesday's win has been coming for a little while," he said.

"We can take confidence from a good performance on a decent pitch that allowed us to pass the ball.

"There was no panic at 2-0. You could see when the second goal went in that they wanted to take the game on."

Stevenage will arrive at the Shay with their play-off dream in tatters after they were beaten 2-1 at home by Northwich in midweek.

But Wilder said it would be wrong to assume that Peter Taylor's side had nothing to play for.

"You never know until the ball has rolled," said Wilder. "I felt it was not a bad time to play Aldershot last weekend and they had chances like we did.

"We will only know how Stevenage are feeling after the first 15 minutes."

Wilder expects to have all the players on duty on Tuesday night available for tomorrow's game.

Jon Shaw had a tight calf after the game in Sussex but is expected to be fit while Jake Wright came through the game with no reaction to the knock he suffered against Aldershot.

Halifax Town (possible): Legzdins, Doughty, Quinn, Wright, Ainge, Killeen, Heslop, Kearney, Griffith, Forrest, Shaw. Subs (from): Campbell, Stamp, Mawson, Taylor, Davies, Whitehouse.

Stevenage (from): Masters, Wilson, Laird, Oliver, Smith, Henry, Cole, Martin, McMahon, Moore, Grant, Berry, Morison, Willock, Russell, Rankin.

Tickets for the Halifax Town Supporters' presentation night will be available at the Shay before tomorrow's game.

Anyone wanting tickets should see Andrew Gilchrist in the South Stand Bar or call 07751 110597.

I half expected "Brand-Angie" to be having her face all over the place, telling people to get down to the Shay and support the lads in numbers, whilst reminding us all just how hard her job is, and that nothing that the fans want is ever easy, but if it wasn't for her the world would fall apart.

Come on Town!
