FC Halifax Town fans are in for a footballing treat if the early signs of pre-season are to be believed.
New boss Jim Vince is renowned for his teams' attacking style and the signing of the likes of Neil Ross and Tony Lennon back that up.
And the appointment of former Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday frontman Nigel Jemson as assistant manager should add to the growing feelgood factor about the club's first season in Unibond League Division One North.
"It is no secret that I was brought up the right way with Brian Clough and like to see the ball played on the floor," said Jemson.
"We play with wingers and try to play the attacking football that the fans want to see."
Jemson arrives at the Shay after a spell in charge at Ilkeston who, like Vince's former side Witton, are in the Unibond Premier Division.
And despite having been in the hot seat at the New Manor Ground, he sees no problems in settling into his new role as number two.
"I have no problem with it at all," said Jemson. "I enjoyed being a manager and was grateful to Ilkeston for giving me the chance.
"I loved every minute of it but new owners came in there and they obviously wanted their own man.
"This is a new chapter in my career.
"People ask how I feel about going to a club as an assistant. Jim has been honest with me and I will have my input.
"I want to learn as much as I can off Jim and if we can bounce ideas off each other it will be good for both of us and, most importantly, good for Halifax."
The new management team have known each other for a while, working on opposing sides several times over the past couple of years or so.
After linking up last week, they have got to work quickly in what is a shortened pre-season for the re-formed club.
"I have a lot of respect for Jim," he said. "He is an honest guy, is very loyal to people and expects it back.
"We have spoken on the phone about opposition teams, got on really well and hopefully it is the start of a good partnership.
"Jim is based on one side of the Pennines and I am on the other.
"Between us we have a massive area covered.
"That will enable us to go out and watch the opposition and look at players who can do a job for us.
"Things have to move quickly. Speaking to Jim he has told me that the chairman is very ambitious and wants move the club forward.
"Two weeks ago we didn't have any players, but we are getting there.
"We have identified the types of players we want. We are looking to get them as soon as we can, but we will not make panic signings."
FORMER Halifax Town striker Nathan Joynes could be about to join ex-boss Chris Wilder at Bury.
Joynes is currently on trial at Gigg Lane, hoping to earn a move to the League Two outfit.
And should he be successful he, and Wilder, could make a swift return to the Shay because FC Halifax Town open their pre-season campaign against Bury on July 22.
Joynes, who has also played for Barnsley, Boston United and Bradford City, scored four Conference goals in 10 starts for Halifax in two spells at the Shay, but was unable to make an impact at the end of last season due to injury.
FC Halifax Town fans wishing to book their place on the coach to the friendly at Alsager Town on July 26 should ring 07707 143094. The cost will be £13 and transport leaves the Shay at noon.
