The duo had scored three goals between them in the previous three games they had played together.

But Gedman was forced to leave the field before half time at Nantwich last weekend through injury and missed the midweek win over Wakefield in the League Cup.

"I play well with him and I am starting to read him more now," he said. "I know what he is going to do.

"You form a bond with a fellow striker.

"It was a different dynamic when Nigel Jemson came on, but I didn't think I played well myself."

Few played well at Nantwich, especially in the second half when the home side dominated and scored three unanswered goals.

"It was hard on Saturday," he said. "It was a big loss losing Paul.

"We seemed a bit flat and never really created anything.

"Nantwich turned the screw a bit in the second half and we had nothing to show."

Stott's midweek double took his goal tally for the season to seven, three of which have come in the league.

And he admitted he was still getting used to life in his new surroundings.

"I think I need to grow in confidence," he said. "It is a new league for me and I have to adapt.

"It is a lot more physical than the leagues I have played in before.

"I wouldn't say I am struggling, but I am not finding it the easiest.

"I will keep plugging away and try to bang the goals in - that's my job."

As for Saturday's trip to North Yorkshire, Stott is hoping Town can pull off a third cup win in four attempts.

"We have won four of the last five and will be looking to keep that going," he said.

"And I will be looking for more goals."

HARROGATE Railway will be under the guidance of Stuart Waddington for Saturday's game after manager Dave Morgan quit the club just days after being given the board's 100 per cent backing.

Railway have lost 10 of their opening 12 games this season and currently lie one place off the bottom of the Unibond League Division One North.

Waddington had a spell in charge of West Riding County Amateur side Halifax Irish last season.

Town will face Skelmersdale United in a re-arranged Unibond League Division One North clash at the Shay on October 11.

The game had been scheduled for April 4 but has been brought forward as neither side had a game after being knocked out of the FA Cup last weekend.
