FC Halifax Town travel to the Genix Healthcare Stadium to face Garforth Town tonight looking for something of a pick-me-up after Saturday's below par effort at Harrogate Railway.
The Shaymen slipped out of the FA Trophy with barely a whimper against a side that was winning for the first time this season - at the 13th attempt.
The sceptics could say that defeat in North Yorkshire, following hot on the heels of their exit from the FA Cup, will allow Town to concentrate on the league.
After all, getting out of Unibond League Division One North has always been - and must remain - the top priority.
But things have not gone particularly well in the past couple of weeks or so and no defeat, in whatever competition, can be good for a team.
Town have to show the kind of resilience you would expect from a side tipped before the season kicked off to be among the front runners.
A little more passion and commitment would not go amiss either.
Third from bottom Garforth have had a mixed bag of results in recent weeks including a 4-3 win at Mossley in the league - a result Town would have loved to have achieved - and a 2-1 defeat at Durham City.
Most recently they suffered a 3-1 home reverse at the hands of Guiseley in an FA Cup replay while last weekend while the Shaymen were losing at Harrogate, Garforth made no mistake in their clash with Belper Town, winning 2-0.
Earlier in the campaign they lost 4-2 at home to Clitheroe just a few days before bouncing back to beat Curzon Ashton 3-2.
That would suggest there will be goals this evening and Garforth will be only too eager to capitalise on any defensive frailties the Shaymen show.
Jim Vince's side must also take the chances when they present themselves, something they have done just once in the league - against Salford City - this season.
The stakes are high and they simply cannot afford any more slip-ups if they are to be considered realistic candidates for promotion.

Doesn't help when Fletch sets expectations such as this. The realists who support Town know that promotion would be a mere bonus this year, and the struggle to consolidate a position in this league this year but be at the forefront of the campaign - what with a scratched together team 3 weeks from the start of the season.

Fletch - you really need to think about the damage you can do by putting these thoughts in to the supporters minds sometimes.

Yep totally agree with part time fan, Fletch's article is very much where Halifax Town should be at this stage of the season "In his opinion" I think he needs to be carefull how he writes these articles, far too personal for my liking as well.
