BOSS Jim Vince has added two players and released three as the build up to his side's Unibond League First Division North opener at home to Bamber Bridge next Saturday gathers momentum.
Striker Ryan Sugden, who spent three seasons at the Shay when Chris Wilder was in charge, has signed up on a short term deal while Vince has also added 18-year-old Luke Hinsley to his playing rosta.
Sugden was forced to sit out Thursday night's 1-0 friendly defeat at Guiseley with a thigh problem he picked up during the warm-up while Hinsley was introduced as a second half substitute.
Popular frontman Sugden had been at Farsley Celtic after leaving the Shay and had been training with Bradford Park Avenue prior to arriving back at Halifax.
"Ryan has been with us before but at the moment he isn't fully fit so we are going to have to work on him," said Vince who added that he has high hopes for youngster Hinsley, saying: "Luke has been training with us and he has shown enough to impress me.
"He has some attributes and we can help him move forward.
Meanwhile it has been confirmed that Vince has decided not to take on Mattone Awang, Liam Smith and Anthony Lennon who have been with the club throughout pre-season.

Fears have been expressed over the future of Liverpool's bid to sign Gareth Barry as the club's ownership battle threatens to flare up again.
The fact the club's American owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett, have yet to produce the promised short-term loan to allow boss Rafael Benitez to complete the £18million transfer has promoted speculation the deal could soon be dead.
Benitez has waited all week for money to be put in place to allow him to end the Barry saga before he sells any more players to fund the deal.
But the longer the delay, the more likely it becomes that Benitez could be forced to abandon the long-drawn-out deal.
The failure to produce funds which Benitez expected a week ago has prompted long-term suitors Dubai International Capital to let it be known they are still waiting in the wings with their own proposals for the club.
A source close to DIC said: "Just because it is has been a quiet summer does not mean DIC have lost interest. They are happy that things have now become low key, and they are awaiting developments."
And there is also speculation a former prospective buyer of the club, and several rich American-based Liverpool fans, have let it be known they are prepared to help the club out of their cash problems.
Observers believe plans for the new stadium have as yet not included confirmed building contracts or the lease being agreed with the local council.

Ok Courier, we all know that Halifax Town are a new company now so you can lose the FC bit in the headlines. You don't write Ossett Albion AFC do you?
