FC Halifax Town's friendly with Droylsden, scheduled for Thursday July 31, has been postponed to allow Halifax RLFC's potential National League Division One title decider with Salford at the Shay to be brought forward and screened live by Sky Sports.
Town had asked Droyslden for a change of date or venue but the Blue Square North side were unable to find one.

"We appreciate Halifax RLFC could do little about the change and we wish them well and hope they pick up the points in the televised fixture," said Town general manager Angie Firth in a statement.

Typical an important pre-season game has to be sacrificed to allow tinpot egg chasing squatters rip up our pitch

It's not FC Halifax Town's ground though is it?

I think we both know you need us there right now, so I wouldnt kick up a fuss.

Having said that we should have told Sky to go jump.

Stop moaning!

Face it - we share the ground now and it is OWNED by the council.

Thank you Town for helping us in what will be the title decider. Best of Luck for the new club and the season(s) to come.

I hope you are in a situation to enable us to repay the favour.

Lets get Pro Sport back on the map in Halifax

Fax offered a similar favour earlier this season when we cancelled a friendly to save the pitch as town were on irish sky.

anyone complaining about the state of the pitch should take a look at it now. Fax have played on it since Feb & it looks immaculate. Cant all be down to the rugby played on it. So please stop with these comments, boring!!!
