NEW boy Lincoln Adams is in line to face one of his former clubs tomorrow after linking up with FC Halifax Town on a one year deal.
The 28-year-old defender has joined from Bradford Park Avenue after impressing Town boss Jim Vince during last Saturday's 2-0 win at Alsager.
Adams has previously played at tomorrow's opponents Ashton United as well as Stalybridge Celtic and Hyde United.
Vince was also expecting to cast his eyes over a further two trialists as the build up to the Unibond League Division One season continues.
Tomorrow's trip will be a tough one against a well established side who play their football a level above FC Halifax Town in the Unibond League Premier Division.
The club's Hurst Cross home is one of the best known non league venues in the Manchester area and is impressively appointed.
And there should be a familiar face in their ranks in the shape of former Shayman Ian Fitzpatrick.
United's older supporters still hark back to a previous meeting with Town which took place in the FA Cup second round in 1953.
The old Halifax Town club ended Ashton's best ever cup run by beating them in a replay after the first game at the Shay ended in a draw.
After tomorrow's game, Halifax have just two more friendlies before they kick off their competitive season at home to Bamber Bridge on Saturday, August 16, with a trip to Guiseley next Thursday followed by a final warm up at Ossett Albion next Saturday, August 9.
Club secretary Angie Firth said the take up of season ticket sales had been encouraging as the club gears up for the long climb back to the top echelons of non league football.
