IT was mission accomplished as far as Town were concerned as they climbed to the Unibond One North summit for the first time with victory at Woodley Sports.

But it was a curious afternoon's football with the Shaymen only at their best for a 25 minute spell either side of the break.
That did not matter too much in the end as they bagged all three goals during their purple patch with Ashley Stott getting a couple to take his tally for the season to 13.
Jon Smith, so often the butt of criticism from the terraces, had a major hand in one of Stott's goals and also in Town's third, which came courtesy of a defender's foot.
Either side of the Shaymen's spell of dominance, they looked ordinary, surrendering possession far too easily.
But their cause was aided considerably by the home side's inability to capitalise.
And Woodley ended the afternoon with 10 men after skipper Daniel Pringle was shown a straight red card for saying something to a linesman a minute from the end.
For added curiosity value, in the first half they had substitute Mark Haslam booked for dissent towards the official, the player's only contribution as he never made it onto the field.
The Shaymen took time to settle, seemingly uneasy with the swirling wind and artificial surface.
And Woodley took full advantage to take a third minute lead when Gavin Salmon picked out Danny Queeley whose deflected shot gave Jon Kennedy no chance.
There were so few home fans present in a crowd of 433 that the strike was met with almost total silence.
Jon Smith fired wide from a tight angle in response, but it was the home side who looked more comfortable and an Adam Morning free kick flashed across the face of goal and wide.
Town gradually got their act together and almost broke back in the 15th minute when Smith, Stott and Paul Gedman combined to send Cavell Coo away down the right.
The full back cut into the area but, under pressure, could only send his shot into the side netting.
Shortly after the Shaymen were level after more good work by Coo down the right.
The defender found Gedman, whose round the corner ball looked to be rolling dead until Smith intervened. He looked up to see Stott free in the middle, pulled it back and the striker did the rest.
Eight minutes later Stott bagged his - and Town's - second of the game from the penalty spot, sending Ben Connett the wrong way after Coo, initially found by a great crossfield pass from Scott Phelan, had been brought down by Paul Collins.
It got even better for Halifax four minutes before half time after more good work from Smith on the left.
He had very little room to work with, but managed to wriggle free and when he crossed low and hard the ball was turned into his own net by defender Levi Kennedy.
Town might have gone further in front a minute after the break, but home keeper Connett somehow managed to beat away Tom Baker's beautifully struck shot.
And Smith twice tried his luck from long range free kicks, the first from 40 yards sailing over but the second from five yards closer having the keeper scrambling.
Apart from a Gedman volley on the turn after good build up work by Stott, Brown, Baker and Coo, Town's large travelling contingent had little to cheer.
Clive Brown headed over when well placed in the 61st minute and two minutes later the home side were right back in it as they scored their second. Pringle managed to get away down the right and squared it for Salmon to do the rest.
Within a minute Collins crossed from the right and Queeley got in at the near post but could only steer his shot inches wide of the goal.
Salmon and Morning both fired over while Jon Kennedy needed a couple of attempts to hold onto Pringle's drilled effort.
Pringle's red card did not prevent Woodley from mounting one final attack, which saw Morning race towards the edge of the area before shooting narrowly wide.
And Town could have bagged a fourth goal at the other end from a Baker free kick, but Connett rose well to tip the ball over the bar.

STAR SHAYMANJon Smith has had his critics and in recent weeks has been something of a peripheral figure.
But when Town were on song for 25 minutes either side of the break, it was Smith who was at the heart of all their best work.
He showed excellent determination to keep the ball in play and set up Ashley Stott for the opening goal.
And it was his quick feet in a tight spot on the byline that led to the Levi Kennedy own goal that ultimately proved to be the difference between the two sides.
Stott also impressed during that spell as he took his tally for the season to 14 goals.
His first showed a true striker's instinct to get into position to score the first and sent the keeper the wrong way from the penalty spot for the second.
Tom Baker battled hard in a midfield that struggled to get a foothold on the game, largely because Woodley were by-passing theirs.
And he could have put the icing on the cake at either end of the second half as he was twice denied a goal by home keeper Ben Connett.
Smith picks up three points, Stott two and Baker one.

YOU SAYA satisfactory result after an early scare. We struggled to win in the second half - don't really know why. The pitch didn't help but to be 3--1 up at half time and struggle as we did wasn't good - BB
