CROSSLEY Belles under 11s booked their place in the next round of the Shield with a 5-2 victory over well organised Lepton Leopards.
Quick interplay from Mollie Cliffe and wingers Rosie Sharpe and Chloe Swift saw the ball whipped into the box for striker Casey Firth to make repeated strikes on target only for the Lepton keeper to make some fine saves.

The deadlock was broken when Mollie Cliffe found herself with enough room in the box to find the back of the net with a well struck shot.

Sharpe saw another shot well saved while Lepton were kept at bay by the defensive duo of Roisin Crotty and Brooke Scully.

Cliffe then struck the ball cleanly from the edge of the box for her second of the game and after Swift and Sharpe had been thwarted by the keeper Lepton were rewarded with their first goal.

The second half saw changes made on both teams but it was Belles who extended their lead with Firth on target.

This was quickly followed by Belles' fourth from a well struck shot from Sharpe.

Lepton fought hard to get back into the game and Katelan Wilkinson, filling in the defence, made some well timed interceptions before Lepton were rewarded with a second goal.

Firth rounded things off with a good piece of midfield interplay for her side's fifth.

GREETLAND Goldstars under 10 Girls, marched into the last four of the cup with a well deserved 1-0 victory against first Division side Battyeford Belles, who had previously lost just once this season.

Greetland created a number of chances with Shauna Hopkins prominent but they were denied by a mixture of bad luck and inspired goalkeeping.

Greetland's defensive duo of Lucy Raine and Sophie Jackson marshalled the Battyeford attack well as the game remained deadlocked at half time.

Greetland continued to show their excellent stamina and team spirit and continued to create goalscoring opportunities.

The all-important goal finally arrived when Walker swung in yet another great corner deep into the six yard box which was again cleared by the Battyeford defence, only for the ball to fall to Jackson on the edge of the area who hit a first time thunderbolt into the top corner.

CROSSLEY Belles under 13s progressed to the last four of their cup competition courtesy of a 5-1 success over Wilsden

Crossleys went two goals up early on from Paige Clark but Wilsden pressure forced a mistake and a shot took a wicked deflection to leave keeper Lauren Capon with no chance.

The Wilsden keeper made a string of fine saves from Lauren Haigh and Niamh Hargreaves but in the second half Crossleys went further ahead with from a goal from Jessica Howell.

Danielle Whitworth, Amy Bell and Jessica Lovett came on while Howell grabbed her second and Hargreaves finished the scoring.
