SIDDAL Emerging Eights again fielded two sides with the A team staying at their home ground to play above their age group while the B team played at Brighouse at their own level.
Siddal A were outplayed by West Bowling but produced a sturdy performance in a 44-24 defeat.
Early tries from Liam Whitton and Oliver Waite gave Siddal a boost in reply to scores from West Bowling.
Siddal had to rely on strong defence from Connor T
aylor and Oliver Lewis to try to stop the West Bowling forwards and earned some credit when a late William Scrimshaw touchdown broke their stronghold in defence just before half time.
A tense second period saw Bowling respond well but Whitton dummied his way through three tacklers to cross for his second try before switching play beautifully to allow Scrimshaw to sidestep his way over by the corner.
Bowling were quick to reply and took every opportunity to run over to claw up the points and seal the win.
Siddal B played West Bowling and a tough game saw the Bradford side earn a 48-40 win.
It was a gutsy performance and tries from Connor Shanks, Liam Buffet and Lewis Hirst helped the Siddal cause but was not enough to secure the win
Two further conversions from Shanks gave Siddal a fighting chance as Buffet notched another two tries after good work by Max Haigh and Ewan Lewis.
But Bowling hit back to take the lead although Siddal did respond on several occasions with Shanks and Buffet crossing for their fourth tries with Hirst bagging his second before time ran out.
Siddal B then took on King Cross Park Rhinos securing a 32-32 draw.
Keiron Chiles led the scoring with a hat-trick, followed by Lewis Hirst (2), Connor Shanks, and Liam Buffet (2).
Max Haigh and Ewan Lewis both held the defence line to prevent Cross edging the win.
Cross started well with Tyler Brook racing in for a fine score with Midgley also crossing after Siddal had replied.
Midgley restored Park's lead, but Siddal hit the front again before Park hauled themselves back through a great try from Tyler Brook with Aaron Brook following him over before the break.
Siddal levelled again but Aaron Brook struck thanks to good work from Ben Hellowell and Will Foster.
Park were made to work hard, Midgley claiming his hat-trick with a well-worked try.
Siddal hit the front for the second time with a well worked try despite some great cover tackling form Cameron Brook and Will Foster.
With the clock ticking down Park were throwing every thing they could at the Siddal defence and they got their rewards with Ben Hellowell running half the length of the pitch to score in the corner and level the scores.
The Rhinos' game with with Newsome started badly for Park as Newsome ran in a try after only two tackles and they extended their lead five minutes later despite the efforts of Cameron and Tyler Brook.
This spurred Park into action and after a long distance run from Aaron Brook, who managed to off load in the tackle to Ben Hellowell who finished the move off in fine style.
Park levelled the scores with a barnstorming drive from Liam Midgley who crossed despite several tacklers hanging onto him.
Park started the second half strongly with good runs from Cameron Brook and Will Foster and managed to get another try with Aaron Brook dancing over for a well deserved try.
The game flowed from end to end before Liam Midgley finished the scoring at 16-8.

SIDDAL under eights scored 17 tries in a 68-16 victory over Brighouse.
Straight from kick off Joshua Zeps ran straight and hard, breaking through the defence to score the first try.
The next try came following good footwork by Eli Dow with Tyler Dupree next to power over.
Brighouse ran in strongly, but Siddal kept them at bay and Alfie Benn went on to score a hat trick of tries.
Dan Molley whipped the ball out wide allowing Dupree to score another two tries leaving the half time score 32-0.
The second saw saw Brighouse cross four times but with James Ainley and Zeps tackling like demons, Dow scored again for two of his three tries while Dupree and Benn went on to score numerous tries.
