Crofton started strongly and scored 10 points without reply to open up a decent lead.

SIDDAL under 11s continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 36-30 victory at Sheffield Hillsborough Hawks.

Siddal started confidently with a powerful opening try from Nathan Bell to which Hillsborough responded with a try of their own.

Lewis Hosty fought back with two full pitch runs, both resulting in tries, but, despite heroic defending from Matthew Wilkes, Michael Reynolds, Leo Dow and Matthew Bean and two further tries from Luke Warner and Edward Ainley, Siddal were trailing by six points.

Skipper Connor Cox led a determined Siddal into the second half which produced a defence Hillsborough were unable to penetrate.

Hosty bagged his second try and powerful driving from Alfie Dow, Lewis Ainley, Josh Ricketts and Harris Abbott enabled Edward Ainley to cross the line for a fifth.

KING Cross Park under 13s saw their first game end in a 22-20 defeat by Meltham All Blacks.

Meltham started and finished the game the stronger of the two sides, scoring in the first and last two minutes of the game.
