Hebden Bridge Picture House will celebrate World Autism Awareness Day by holding its first Autism Friendly screening of The LEGO Movie on April 5, at 5pm.

Rebekah Fozard, manager of the Picture House, explained how an Autism Friendly screening will differ from a regular screening.

“We will leave the house lights on low, the sound will be turned down slightly, people are free to move around and make noise, and there will be a also be a ‘chill-out’ space provided if people wish to leave the screening for a break at any time.

“We aim to make the Picture House accessible to all and have recently been running monthly parent and baby screenings, as well as our usual soft subtitled screenings for the hard of hearing. We hope this Autism Friendly screening will get great support to allow us to run more in the future.”

Doors will open on April 5 at 4.15pm and no trailers will be played prior to the movie.

Ticekts cost £6.50 adults, £5.50 concessions and £5 children.
