Allotment holders in Calderdale are being invited to a special talk by BBC Radio Leeds’ resident gardening expert Joe Maiden.

Calderdale Leisure Gardeners Federation will be hosting An Evening with Joe Maiden at Arden Road Social Club, Halifax, at 7.45pm on February 20.

The presenter has appeared on numerous shows for the BBC and Yorkshire Television and is a recipient of the Royal Horticultural Society’s Harlow Carr medal for lectures on gardening.

The Cumbian-born presenter hosts a regular show on Sunday mornings on BBC Radio Leeds with his co-host Tim Crowther, as well as regular podcasts offering advice for gardeners.

Maiden will be answering allotment holders’ questions and will be offering tips to budding gardeners.

Plants, books and products will be on sale.

There will be a buffet available for £3.
