The July Project is back – and even better this year
SUMMER holidays are a trying time for parents faced with easily bored children.
The upshot is that the best months of the year could be ruined by long faces and constant grumbles that there is nothing to do.
For that very reason the July Project has proved an inspiration. The answer to everyone's prayers. Two weeks of wall-to-wall entertainment for kids.
It returns for its second year, bigger and better, with something for everyone.
Incredibly, between July 1 and 13 there will be more than 100 events including music, art, drama, dance and sports at venues across Calderdale.
Last year 7,500 children took part. This year it will be more than 8,000.
The culmination will even bring the big screen back to Halifax, albeit for one night only, when Grease will feature at a 1950s-style drive-in at Eureka.
The organisers are justifiably pleased with the level of interest. They deserve a medal from every hard-pressed mum and dad in Calderdale.
