The Dodnaze family fun day proved to be a success as more than 100 people turned out for some end of summer fun.

The event, held at the Dodnaze Community Centre at Hirst Grove, Hebden Bridge, yesterday (Saturday) welcomed performances from the village brass band, children’s races, a cake bake sale competition, bee demonstration and more.

Josie McCarthy, who works at the community centre as a control development worker, said: “It went absolutely fantastic.

“We had the Hebden Bridge Brass Band, we had cake bake stalls, a lot of the children took part in community games like the Egg and Spoon race.”
