Calderdale will host comedy kings over the next few weeks in the run-up to the Halifax Comedy Festival.
Michael McIntyre will kick off the feast of fun at the Victoria Theatre, Halifax, with a sell-out show on Wednesday to whet the appetite for his autumn stadium tour.
Ken Dodd's Happiness Showvisits the theatre on Saturday, July 11.
And Todmorden laughter-maker Martin Bigpig, who supported Frankie Boyle when he played at the theatre last year, will be headlining at a cabaret comedy night at the Viaduct Cafe, Dean Clough, Halifax, on Friday, July 17.
Dean Clough will also host three gigs from the Halifax Comedy Festival later in the month.
The International Comedy Showcase on Saturday, July 25, will feature comedians from Germany, Ireland, Russia and Australia; a Magical Mystery Tour on Tuesday, July 28 includes Ali Cook from Channel 4's Dirty Tricksand Five's Monkey Magic and on Thursday, July 30, Robin Ince will present his stand-up show Bleeding Heart Liberal.
Other events will be held at the Victoria Theatre, Square Chapel in Halifax and at the town's Piece Hall.
