A new club night is set to take revellers on a trip back in time to the hazy days of 70s New York nightclubs.

Paradise Lost will be held at Hebden Bridge Trades Club and organiser Scott M hopes to emulate iconic clubs such as Paradise Garage and Studio 54.

Scott, from Todmorden, has built up a reputation for his edits and remixes of classic disco floor fillers.

“I tend to rearrange tracks to make them sound more contemporary, take out the elements that were popular back then but don’t fit with a modern audience and give them a structure more akin to modern dance music,” he said.

Now Scott is hoping the contemporary audience will be dancing to his tunes as he recreates the atmosphere of a 70s club in Hebden Bridge.

He said the nights were full of “funky basslines, soaring vocals, a party atmosphere and a united gathering of people who found freedom on the dancefloor when the music hit them like an arrow to the soul.”

The event will be held on Saturday July 21 from 9pm. Tickets £8 for non-members and £6 for members available on the door or from wegottickets.com
