You must remember this...

The dramatic society of Southgate Methodist Church, Elland, put on a production of John Dighton’s farce The Happiest Days of Your Life in May 1994.

The play is set at the Hilary Hall School for boys in the summer of 1945, when the staff discover that pupils from another school, St Swithin’s, are to be billeted on them. But St Swithin’s turns out to be a girls’ school and trying to conceal the fact that boys and girls are housed together makes for a classic farce. The respective school heads were played by Andrew Jacobs and Christine Chadwick (wearing the mortar boards) and other parts were played by Andrew Kershaw, Ian Crossley, Anne Pickles, Kelly Sykes, Matthew Pottinger, Sarah Carrapiett, Philip Wilkinson, Mary Oldroyd and Graham Wadsworth.
