A series of walking leaflets have been produced by Friends of Calderdale’s Countryside.
The voluntary organisation - set up to boost walking opportunities across the area - has used funds from the Big Lottery and Awards for All to create the leaflets.
The work has included updating some which were written more than 20 years ago and are now out of date.
There are 15 ‘Walks Around the Village’ leaflets which have been produced, detailing three walks from villages in Calderdale, including a wheelchair access walk from Cromwell Bottom. They will also provide information about the local countryside, including visits to a number of local nature reserves to encourage the community to start exploring the area.
The leaflets are available from Calderdale tourist information centres, priced at 75p and contain detailed descriptions of walks from two to seven miles long, as well as maps and local information. Friends of Calderdale’s Countryside is a volunteer group which works with Calderdale Council.
